The UAE has expanded its visa-on-arrival scheme to include citizens of Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya, and South Africa, along with their accompanying family members.
Eligible travellers holding ordinary passports and valid residence permits from the US, UK, EU countries, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada can obtain a 14-day or 60-day visa on arrival. The move reflects the UAE’s commitment to easing travel procedures and enhancing the visitor experience.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
The expanded visa-on-arrival scheme underscores the UAE’s efforts to deepen partnerships with friendly countries.
It is expected to promote stronger cultural exchange, tourism, and economic cooperation.
Eligible visitors will have more opportunities to explore the UAE’s diverse attractions, thriving economy, and business-friendly environment.
The Ministry will continue working with relevant authorities to make travel procedures smoother and more efficient.
The initiative further strengthens the UAE’s appeal as a global destination for investment, innovation, and skilled talent.
The ICP said the new visa amendments are part of ongoing efforts to enhance the UAE’s visa system, broaden eligibility, and align services with international best practices. The move also strengthens cooperation with partner countries and supports the UAE’s global competitiveness in residency, tourism, and travel.
To qualify, applicants and their accompanying family members must be citizens of one of the six eligible countries and hold a valid residence permit from the US, EU, UK, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada. Eligible travellers can obtain a visa on arrival for 14 or 60 days, depending on the visa issued.
