The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has announced that the special grace period allowing residents with expired visas to re-enter the UAE will conclude on Tuesday, March 31.
The initiative was introduced to help residents stranded abroad after their visas expired due to regional disruptions and airspace closures. Eligible individuals were allowed to re-enter the UAE without obtaining a new entry visa.
The scheme applied to those whose residency expired while they were outside the country, particularly from February 28, when travel disruptions intensified. Authorities described it as a humanitarian measure to ease challenges and support smooth returns.
Eligible residents are advised to return before the deadline, after which normal entry rules will resume, including the need for a new visa.
