The UAE has maintained its position as the world's second most powerful passport in the latest Henley Passport Index 2026, offering visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 188 destinations.
The ranking highlights the country's strong diplomatic ties and expanding global partnerships. Since 2006, the UAE passport has gained access to 153 additional destinations, marking one of the most remarkable improvements in the index's history.
The report also noted that global travel freedom has nearly doubled over the past two decades, with the average visa-free access rising to 108 destinations in 2026. Singapore topped the ranking with access to 192 destinations, while the UAE, Japan and South Korea shared second place with 188 destinations. Sweden ranked third with 187 destinations.
