Residents across the UAE have experienced several days of rain. The NCM warns of one final wave before conditions improve on Saturday and urges caution through Friday, March 27.
Clouds are moving from the west through Al Dhafra, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, the northern emirates, Al Ain, and Fujairah. Rain is expected in the west late Thursday, reaching Abu Dhabi early Friday, and spreading to northern and eastern areas during the day.
This wave may bring:
Heavy rainfall
Thunderstorms with lightning
Isolated hail
The NCM has issued a weather alert for Abu Dhabi emirate—covering Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra—from Thursday, March 26, 10 pm to Friday, March 27, 4 pm.
Residents can expect:
Intermittent rain
Gusty winds causing dust and reduced visibility
Isolated hail
The public is advised to drive carefully, follow speed limits, avoid valleys, and carry first-aid kits and backup lights. Winds will shift northwest over the coming days, bringing dust and sand that may reduce visibility across deserts and highways.
Sea conditions are rough in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman; mariners should stay ashore. Emergency teams are deployed nationwide. The Ministry of Interior advises avoiding unnecessary travel, reducing speeds, maintaining safe distances, and steering clear of low-lying areas.
According to the NCM, conditions should improve from Friday night, with clearer skies on Saturday, though cooler temperatures and northwesterly winds are expected in the following days.
