UAE residents can renew visa medical test from home under new Emirates Health Services service

Expatriate residents in the UAE can now complete the medical fitness screening required for residency visa renewal from home, thanks to a new service launched by Emirates Health Services (EHS).

The initiative, titled “Residency Renewal from Home,” allows residents to take the mandatory medical fitness test without visiting medical centres, as a specialised medical team visits the applicant’s residence at a scheduled time. The service aims to make government procedures more convenient and accessible for residents.

Designed to simplify the residency renewal process, the service offers a more convenient option for residents who prefer completing procedures from home or face time or mobility constraints. According to Emirates Health Services (EHS), residents can book the service by calling 800887, after which a specialised team from the Wiqayati preventive health centres visits the applicant’s home to conduct the medical screening according to approved health standards.

The visit includes the full medical examination required for residency renewal and is carried out under strict quality and safety protocols. Once completed, applicants receive their results via SMS or email, allowing them to continue the renewal process through official channels without visiting medical centres.

Emirates Health Services (EHS) confirmed that the service is currently available only for residency renewal applications and forms part of its efforts to enhance government healthcare services and improve customer experience through innovative solutions.

The initiative is also expected to reduce visits to medical fitness centres, helping ease congestion while ensuring tests are conducted efficiently by qualified healthcare professionals using approved equipment.
