Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha are celebrated by Muslims worldwide, while Eid Al Etihad is observed only in the United Arab Emirates.
According to the UAE public holiday law, there will be at least 12 official holidays with the Eid holidays making up most of them. Eid Al Fitr 2026 is set to begin on Thursday, March 19.
This will create a four-day weekend in Dubai, lasting until Sunday, March 22. Public sector employees will be off from March 19 to 22, while private sector workers will have March 19 to 21 off. As Sunday is already a weekend day, they will also enjoy a four-day break.
Eid Al Adha, one of the two major Islamic festivals marking the end of the pilgrimage to Mecca, will begin with Arafat Day on Dhu Al Hijjah 9.
If predictions hold, the Eid Al Adha holiday will run from Tuesday, May 26, to Friday, May 29.
