A stringent set of guidelines for parents and students for the 2025–2026 school year has been released by public and private schools in the United Arab Emirates. Violations may result in fines and referrals to the appropriate authorities.
From parents driving against traffic in school parking lots to children carrying cell phones to class, schools listed 12 forbidden behaviors in circulars that were distributed to families. In addition to ensuring student safety, the regulations are intended to improve discipline and reduce traffic during drop-off and pick-up.
Students are prohibited from stealing, not wearing the school uniform, verbally or physically attacking teachers or classmates, smoking or carrying illegal substances on campus, bringing cell phones to class, damaging school property, and forging official documents.
Administrators emphasized that infractions of this nature will lead to disciplinary action and, in certain situations, referral to criminal enforcement.
Additionally, drivers and parents were warned against risky pick-up and drop-off procedures.
Schools prohibit stopping in unsafe areas, blocking exits or reserved parking, driving against traffic, excessive honking, not yielding, and ignoring school bus stop signs. Violations will be recorded and may be reported to authorities.
New rules limit one guardian per courtyard. Families must collect all children from the youngest’s pickup point, maintain safe distancing, and follow set entry and exit times.
Parents were reminded by schools that cars must stop when school buses display the "Stop" sign. They also warned that infractions are now immediately recorded and subject to legal repercussions.
