The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has stated that, beginning of August 18, 2025, UAE citizens will be able to renew their passports up to a year before they expire, rather than six months beforehand.
The authority's head, Ali Mohammed Al Shamsi, announced the change, which enables citizens whose passports are valid for 12 months or fewer to use the smart services platform to renew them.
The authorities further emphasized that the modification is a component of larger initiatives to enhance citizens' quality of life and offer proactive, user-friendly government services.
