In an effort to promote physical activity and a healthy lifestyle, shopping centers in Dubai will be transformed into indoor workout tracks in the mornings throughout the month of August.
The "Dubai Mallathon" idea was introduced Thursday by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and the Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.
Seven of Dubai's most popular shopping destinations—Dubai Mall, Dubai Hills Mall, Springs Souk, City Centre Deira, City Centre Mirdif, Mall of the Emirates, and Dubai Marina Mall—will get dedicated walking and running paths as part of the project.
