Building on the momentum from the previous year, Etihad Airways has recorded its best-ever first-quarter financial and customer satisfaction achievements. The airline has also made significant progress in revenue, fleet expansion, and operational efficiency.
Strong passenger demand and operational savings propelled the Abu Dhabi-based airline to a 30% profit after tax of Dh685 million ($187 million) in Q1 2025 compared to the same time the previous year. The passenger and cargo businesses both performed well, which contributed to a 15% increase in total revenue year over year.
In Q1 2025, Etihad handled 5 million passengers, a 16% increase over Q1 2024. With almost 20 million passengers flying with the airline over the last 12 months, Etihad is the fastest-growing airline in the area.
Additionally, customer satisfaction increased by 20% year over year in Q1 2025, setting a new record. Gains were noted across several important touchpoints, such as the redesigned website and mobile app, food and beverage, Wi-Fi, in-flight service, boarding, and check-in. Along with improved service standards, new lounge and in-flight cuisines were also introduced during the quarter.
