It has been disclosed that in 2026, Etihad Rail would finally launch its passenger service. The announcement of Etihad Rail's passenger opening date follows a meeting on Friday, May 9, between Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, and Etihad Rail CEO Shadi Malak.
36.5 million passengers a year are anticipated once it is open for travel. Each train can carry up to 400 people and travel at up to 200 kilometers per hour. First class, business class, and economy are just a few of the several seating sections available.
Eleven cities throughout the seven UAE emirates will be connected by the 900km Etihad Rail passenger train network.
The first passenger train station will be constructed in the center of Fujairah, near Sakamkam.
