Dense fog and mist blanketed parts of the country early today, January 3, leading the NCM to issue yellow and red fog alerts until 10am.
As visibility dropped, Abu Dhabi Police reduced the speed limit on Maktoum Bin Rashid Road from 100 km/h to 80 km/h, following a similar fog warning issued by the NCM on January 2.
The meteorology authority advised motorists to:
Follow the designated speed limits
Maintain a safe distance between vehicles
Avoid using hazard lights while driving
Stay within their lanes
Fog reduced visibility in parts of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with dim streetlights and slow-moving traffic. The NCM said temperatures will range between 15°C and 24°C in Abu Dhabi and 13°C to 24°C in Dubai.
