A smart corridor will allow travelers using the Al Maktoum International (DWC) airport to quickly clear immigration. Ten passengers will be able to pass through the corridor in the same amount of time it takes for one person to enter the Dubai Airport (DXB) immigration smart gates.
When travelers arrive at the airport in their cars, self-governing robots will take control and move their bags directly to the check-in desk.
As soon as they arrange their trip, travelers will be able to do duty-free shopping at the airport, book their tickets via an app, and take advantage of an airport metaverse experience. After booking the tickets, the traveler's bags will be assigned an e-tag.
When passengers get inside their cars, they will get a "full check-in experience," which includes having their bags weighed.
Airlines will be able to prepare for arriving guests by using a "intelligent traffic management system" to track vehicles as they travel to the airport. Travelers will also have the choice of arriving by bonded eVTOL aircraft or metro on the day of their flight.
Additionally, baggage claim will be redesigned. Passengers will retrieve their luggage from biometric-enabled kiosks rather than conveyor belts. Additionally, passengers might choose to have their bags delivered to their homes by self-driving cars.
