Residents of Dubai who are interested in studying and living by the sea may now get practical training for real-world problems in realistic settings, such as emergency response drills, engine room mockups, and full-mission bridge simulators.
The recently established Octanta Maritime Training Academy aims to train students for a variety of professions, including offshore energy, commercial shipping, and superyacht operations.
The academy places a strong emphasis on practical, simulator-based instruction meant to mimic actual marine circumstances. Advanced bridge and engine room simulators, realistic safety drill scenarios, and courses designed to satisfy international maritime standards are all part of its hands-on curriculum.
Octanta makes it convenient for prospective mariners to start their training by providing a simple enrolling process through its website and mobile app. From three to ten days, the academy offers a range of courses for novices and seasoned experts.
Internationally recognized STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) programs, safety and security training, simulator-based engineering and navigation education, and technical upskilling are among the courses offered. Global certification recognition is ensured by their alignment with UAE maritime rules and the International Maritime Organization (Imo).
