Palm Pay will be coming soon in UAE; Customers can hover their palm in front of machines to pay for your purchases

Palm Pay is a contactless palm recognition service that facilitates payments using biometric authentication techniques. To verify transactions, payment terminals will scan customer’s palm prints.

“The rollout of the Palm Pay technology is planned to happen gradually throughout 2024,” Abdallah Abu Sheikh, founder of the technology development group Astra Tech, told Khaleej Times. The company launched the payment solution through its fintech subsidiary PayBy at the Dubai Fintech Summit.

Users will be able to access the technology for free. The users will be able to register at the point of sale in the first phase using the gadget itself. Similar to how facial recognition authentication works now, the palm authentication procedure will be linked into apps (like PayBy and Botim) in the future to enable users to quickly update their accounts using their palm prints through an authentication function on their phone. 

Customers will then be able to pay for goods and services by simply waving their palms at any retailer that accepts this cutting-edge technology, offering convenience and instant access, s explained by Sheikh. According to the firm, this technology offers a more secure option than other payment methods including conventional card payments.
