Sharjah Police has reinforced the “Slow Down" initiative focused on senior citizens

With the introduction of the "Slow Down" campaign, the Sharjah Police General Command, acting through its Traffic and Patrols Department, has strengthened traffic safety protocols along the emirate's roadways. With an emphasis on older folks and locals, the program promotes a traffic-aware culture and seeks to make travel safer for a demographic that needs extra attention and care.

"Slow Down," which was introduced in January 2025, is a component of a larger Sharjah Police initiative to raise traffic awareness among all societal groups. The program entails putting a noticeable "Slow Down" sticker on the back of cars that are transporting senior citizens. By acting as a visual cue to other drivers, this sticker promotes cautious and considerate driving near these cars.

The "Slow Down" campaign has helped more than 1,500 people since it was put into place, proving how successful it is at increasing traffic awareness and encouraging safer roadways. For older citizens throughout the emirate, its effects are evident not just in better driving habits but also in increased road safety and quality of life.
