ADEK mandates private school job applicants to provide a good conduct certificate, locally or from their home country, as part of measures to ensure a safe learning environment.
ADEK launched an online program to familiarize new and foreign school staff with Emirati culture and traditions, supporting its Cultural Considerations Policy in schools. Seven important measures are included in this policy:
- Conduct training and awareness programs to enhance cultural understanding.
- Uphold commitment to national customs and practices.
- Implement clear channels for reporting violations.
- Show respect for Emirati traditions and values.
- Maintain an appearance aligned with local cultural norms.
- Avoid behaviors, expressions, or symbols that conflict with cultural guidelines.
- Adhere to the laws and regulations of the UAE.
ADEK stressed that its strategy ensures a safe learning environment while preserving Emirati values. Through the School Staff Licensing Portal, applicants must submit required documents, which are verified with relevant authorities. Final approval to teach in Abu Dhabi private schools is granted only after all checks are completed, ensuring professionalism and competence.
