Among the infractions that can lead to the termination and deregistration of employees in Dubai's education sector are criminal convictions, grave violations of child safety, and egregious professional misconduct. Deregistration may also result from other behaviors that are severe or persistent, such as using social media inappropriately, acting dishonestly or unprofessionally on a regular basis, or acting in a way that is culturally insensitive.
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) of Dubai formally prohibits a person from working in any private educational institution through the procedure of deregistration. Their KHDA Appointment Notice is removed upon deregistration, and they are not allowed to seek for or occupy any position in the emirate's schools, early childhood centers, universities, technical institutes, or vocational centers.
Released on Wednesday, the new Staff Deregistration Technical Guide lays out precise protocols for schools and education providers to deal with severe misconduct and persistent transgressions of professional norms. All KHDA-approved employees are subject to the rules, which goes into force right away.
All employees are also expected to get regular training on professional behavior, ethics, and safeguarding, which emphasizes each institution's need to uphold a courteous, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
The KHDA website now has the Staff Deregistration Technical Guide, and training sessions are scheduled to assist institutions in properly implementing the policy.
